If you live in northeast Portland, you're familiar with the attendant sounds of our "international" airport nearby. Seems this summer that the noise will worsen, as some jets will be diverted to the neighborhood noise-busting "crosswind runway" while the north runway is being repaved.
PDX's solution? Plug in your earphones. But only for one.
They've been sending most of the Horizon Dash 8 traffic over my neighborhood up here in The Couv. Haven't seen any larger jet aircraft using the crosswind runway. We'll see how long that continues.

The airport's been there longer than almost all of the nearby residents. It seems to me that if you choose to move into a place near an airport, you negate any rights to noise complaints.
