Hello, Dolly
WWP missed her four years ago when she last toured Portland. We won't be making that mistake again. This time, in fact, we'll have ringside seats. Be sure to check back later for photos (if they're allowed).

Well, no photography was allowed at this concert [unlike Josh Groban a few months ago in the same venue, when camera and cellphone shutterbugs abounded]. But there are good pics of a previous concert here. [And yes, the outfits are exactly the same].
Here's the song list for you Dolly fans:
* Two Doors Down
* Why’d You Come In Here Lookin’ Like That
* Jolene
* Thank God I’m A Country Girl
* Backwoods Barbie
* Eagle When She Flies
* Shattered Image
* Coat Of Many Colors
* Only Dreamin’
* Gospel Medley: Brother Love’s Travelin’ Salvation Show, I’ll Fly Away, When the Saints Go Marching In, Old Time Religion, Calm On The Water, Daddy Was an Old Time Preacher Man
* (Intermission)
* Baby, I’m Burning
* Better Get To Livin’
* The Lonesomes
* Puppy Love
* Band Medley: Great Balls of Fire, Bye Bye Love, Johnny B. Goode, I Wanna Hold Your Hand, My Girl, I’m Sorry, Respect
* White Limozeen
* Here You Come Again
* Islands In The Stream
* 9 To 5
* I Will Always Love You
* Jesus & Gravity (Encore)
It was a good concert, and WWP's first time to see Dolly. She gives it her all, and at 62 years of age she shows no sign of slowing down or losing her songbird voice. The songs performed spanned her 50 years in music, from "Puppy Love" [first recorded when she was 10 or 11 years old, she recalled] to several selections from her newest album, "Backwoods Barbie."
Dolly also chatted up a storm, entertaining folks with stories old and new, even throwing in a nod to her many gay fans, so evidently in attendance, with a rewrite of "Jolene" as "Drag Queen."
It was a lovely evening, vastly enhanced by having purchased center front-row tickets. And even though we didn't go with the company we'd once hoped to have, it was still a good escape.
And not a tear was shed during the penultimate song.
