Uber-blogger James Lileks came up with a nifty idea today: Bloggers might devote their Thursday musings to pointing to other websites -- or URLs, as the technos know them -- and call the whole of this endeavor ...
ThURLsday!
Brilliant, WWP said to himself, over a summer's day gin and tonic.
To wit:
Sins of the father: How awful is this? On the eve of its big financial campaign, a charitable organization must proactively disassociate itself from the Portland Catholic Archdiocese. The pain and embarrassment of being a church person only deepens. [Thanks to RoguePundit for the poignant entry.]
Election 2000, redux?: Two reports this week come up with conflicting results for the 2004 presidential race. Depending on the day, GWB at times appears to be pulling back even with, or ahead, of JFK Lite in the post-veep-appointment polling sweepstakes. On the other hand, it's electoral votes that count. Counted that way, by some tallies, the Two Senators are leading. So this sets up an interesting idea: What if JFK Lite were to win the electoral college, but lose the popular vote? Wouldn't that be rich? [Hat tip to Andrew Sullivan for the links, unrelatedly offered.]
Ledge issue: As WWP noted, yesterday's U.S. Senate vote on a federal marriage amendment is not getting quite the bounce GWB might have hoped for. Even his press agents at the Wall Street Journal are beginning to have doubts. [Thanks, Doctor A.]
That's it for this Thursday. WWP will, as they say, "keep you posted."
Thanks for the kind words.

Terrific idea! I'm in, though I'm occasionally challenged to remember which day is Thursday.

Oooh, is that one day after When's Day?

PS to Gordie: That's some mighty fine reading. Keep up the good work. WWP checks it every day. With Jack out of the daily picture, you are set to be WWP-promoted...
