Today the president of the United States had two things on his mind.
First was a trip to Atlanta, to lay a wreath at the tomb of Martin Luther King Jr. to commemorate what would have been the civil rights leader's 75th birthday. GWB was accompanied by King’s widow, Coretta Scott King, and one of Dr. King’s sisters.
Then, only hours later, GWB took advantage of a presidential perk (known as a recess appointment) to install a known anti-civil rights apologist to the federal courts. He was accompanied by no small amount of gall.
