Endorsement
It's said that the political campaigns don't really begin until Labor Day, but in Oregon the gubernatorial race seems to be off to an early, fast and nasty start. Before the first hamburger could get off the grill, there was Ron Saxton with what must be the earliest negative television ad in Beaver state history.
As they say over at lefty land, this probably portends something less than good for Saxton's internal polling numbers.
As for WWP: We've seen enough. Mr. Saxton may be a terrific lawyer and citizen, but the stain of his opening salvo is just too much to stomach. As early as kindergarten we are taught to say something nice about others before being critical. Those who fail to live out that lesson also fail WWP's trust.
As the new button on the right suggests, we're sticking with Ted, and we hope you will too.
Note to WWP's Democratic friends: It may be true that Ted Kulongoski is not every Democrat's dream candidate; we understand that. Given the circumstances that existed when Ted came into office, though, and the realities of statewide politics in what might be the lightest blue of blue states, Ted is still our best choice -- by a long shot. Moreover, Ted's heart is as ours: abortion rights, gay/lesbian civil rights, and more. The time has come to call a truce on the carping; the time to close ranks is now. Please join WWP in supporting the governor's re-election.
Note to bloggers and webmasters: If you want to put a Ted button on your page, write here.

...or you could just right-click and 'save as' the boxing gloves image, upload to your site, and rock 'n roll...

True, Kari. Though if you want a button larger than the one we have here at 144 pixels in width, you'll want to contact the campaign.
